Act Three Designs, LLC is the result of a lifelong pursuit and passion to work within the home design and staging industry to help others see their home's hidden potential.​

​

From an early age, I began rearranging my furniture and helping friends decorate their rooms or for parties. I even recall decorating my doll houses for each holiday as a little girl. My fascination with furniture and decor has been such a paramount part of my life since I can remember. 

 

In my teen years, I worked alongside my aunt and uncle, both real estate agents and multi-property owners/landlords, helping with decorating occupied rental units well before 'staging' was even a thing in the early 90's.

As I got older, I had the unique opportunity to travel several parts of the world including a study abroad sojourn while in college in Florence, Italy and backpacking through much of Europe.

 

Having also lived in 7 different states (before settling down in the Portland suburbs in 2010) and worked in many fields as an event designer/planner, office manager and national accounts manager, among many other roles, I quickly learned to adapt to new environments, people, cultures and living quarters. This granted me the thrilling excuse to get to decorate a multitude of spaces throughout my life.

In addition to my own personal hands-on decorating experience in my own homes as well as those of friends and family requesting my expertise, I was also always an avid HGTV watcher where I further honed in on my design skills and how to utilize the 'shop your house' approach to re-purpose pieces in the home for a new look. I later gained my Bachelor of Arts degree from Penn State University in Interior Design, Visual Arts and Communications.

It is an honor and privilege to have the opportunity to assist others in their home design challenges and staging consultations. The joy and fulfillment I get in knowing I helped a homeowner sell their house quicker and for a higher price, is what keeps me inspired and motivated to be a trusted and respected design and staging expert you can rely on!

The official creation of Act Three Designs was also greatly inspired by my dear dad, John T. Owens, who sadly passed away suddenly from his third and final heart attack in May of 2012. He was a very talented drum player and though he had many successes as a musician in his short life, he often lived in regret of all the dreams he never had the courage to pursue. 

​​

After experiencing such a tragedy, I know now more than ever that life is short! If we don't seize every opportunity and make our dreams a reality, we risk wondering what might have been.​
